Release Bearing SACHS
The releaser forms the connection between the rotating clutch and the static actuating system. It is responsible for making sure the clutch functions reliably.
Self-centering clutch releaser.
There is normally no play between the clutch releaser and the car clutch (diaphragm spring), i.e. the releaser rotates with the clutch disc. The actuating system generates a preload, which ensures that the clutch and the thrust ring rotate at the same speed. Differences in rotational speeds would cause noise and higher levels of wear.
To reduce weight, most releaser housings are now made of synthetic materials.
